Spinner Cap

A spinner cap is a carb cap with angled airflow channels specifically designed to make terp pearls spin inside your banger. The directional airflow creates a vortex effect that moves the pearls, distributing heat more evenly across your concentrate.

Key features:

  • Angled airflow channels create a spinning vortex
  • Designed specifically for use with terp pearls
  • Improves heat distribution in the banger
  • Various designs and aesthetics available
  • Works best with bucket-style bangers

The angled holes or channels are the key: unlike flat carb caps that merely restrict airflow, spinner caps direct air at an angle, creating rotational movement inside the banger. When terp pearls are present, this airflow catches them and sets them spinning. The spinning pearls move across the banger bottom, spreading heat and your concentrate evenly for more complete vaporization.

The effect is both functional and visual. Functionally, the movement prevents concentrate from pooling in one spot and ensures it contacts evenly heated surfaces throughout your dab. Visually, watching the pearls spin is satisfying and provides feedback about airflow — if they're spinning well, your cap is positioned correctly.

Design variations include single-hole spinners (one angled channel), multi-hole designs (multiple channels for more complex airflow), and various aesthetic approaches. Some spinner caps include built-in dabbers on top for dual functionality. The material doesn't affect performance much — borosilicate glass and quartz are the most common and work equally well as long as the airflow channels are angled correctly.

Using your spinner cap: Place one to three terp pearls in your banger before heating (the exact number depends on banger size — don't overcrowd). Heat your banger normally, let it cool to temperature, apply your concentrate with a dab tool, then immediately place the spinner cap on top. Position it so the angled holes create the spinning effect. You may need to adjust slightly to find the perfect balance. The pearls should start spinning right away. Adjust the cap's position if needed during your draw to maintain the spin. Clean your spinner cap regularly since reclaim builds up around the edges and in the airflow channels.
